Colour roughs of my Oz characters! Includes Dorothy, who is based on John R Neill’s illustration.
Some more Wizard of Oz sketches! This time its the magic wielding folk.
Locasta Tattypoo the Good Witch of the North, the Wicked Witch of the East, Glinda the Good Witch of the South and the Wicked Witch of the West! The Wizard is there at the end, but we all know about him and his supposed magic….
Almost finished my final freelance project before I can have my summer holiday! During said holiday, I will be working on Vol 2 of the Real Monsters as well as other small personal projects.
Here are some characters I’ve been sketching that you might recognize from a very well known and beloved storybook. Look forward to seeing more of these in a short while!
A quick sketch of an idea for a redesign of the bipolar Real Monster. The previous design feels too clunky in my opinion and I think something more sprite-like would work better.
More Real Monsters Vol 2 stuff in a few weeks time!
Sorry it’s been a while! I’ve been very busy with freelance projects over the past few weeks. To keep myself sane, I’ve been doing some Pokemon sketches for friends on Twitter in the evenings and here is the results of the last week!
Im hoping to have some time off soon, which I will devote to working on volume 2 of the Real Monsters- so watch this space.
See ya around!
I drew one of my favorite Pokemon, Leavanny, to de-stress after a busy week. I was thinking about if plant Pokemon changed with the seasons, so I did some colour swapping to see what it might look like.
The Zelda Collab!
Starting last November I put together a collab of all the creatures and races within the universe of The Legend of Zelda games! Spanning across Twitter, Tumblr, Deviantart, and even some Facebook folk, nearly 250 different artists submitted artwork!
Thank you so much to everyone who joined, this was a great experience and I got to meet some awesome people through it! You all are awesome!
MINE IS THE SECOND ONE! The Acheman! This was super fun and its great to see all the entries together!
The Zelda games are host to a multitude of awesome looking beasties. That’s why its probably my favorite game series, EVER.
Some recent Poke-doodles, featuring some of my favorite Pokemon! Noibat, Yanmega and Honchkrow! The bottom two were done as warm ups to get used to my new Cintiq Companion. :)
I was looking through some old work and came across this cover design I did for the Penguin Design Award last year. I did it in one week and I like it a lot better now than I did back then.
I’d love to revisit The Wind in the Willows one day- a marvelously charming read!
Child of Light is a beautiful game! It has everything I love about good games- a gorgeous visual style that runs throughout, beautiful music, a charming and meaningful fairy tale inspired story and of course really fun gameplay and RPG number crunching.
I fell in love with Oengus and empathized with his character. He is a big brute and maybe a little scary, but deep down he’s got a huge heart. I love the interaction between him and Aurora, probably the thing I love most about the game.
About 5 months ago, I started a little project to draw all 151 original Pokemon, one a day, every day. It was a hoot and I learnt quite a bit that I can take into my practice as an illustrator and character designer. I want to thank everyone for their comments and support along the way- so THANKS!
People have been asking about posters and stuff, so stay tuned for details on that kind of thing.
Final daily Pokemon update! Super cute dragons and genetic abominations! PLUS- bonus glitch Pokemon MissingNo! (My interpretation)
Well, that’s it folks! I made it to the end of Gen 1. What a fun ride this has been, thank you so much for all the lovely comments and support a long the way!
